8.0 Presentation
We're big fans of the interface and the built-in dictionary, and the load times are pretty solid. Sadly, the story takes a long time to get going and the voice acting hurts its believability.

8.5 Graphics
Star Ocean may look a little dated compared to something like Final Fantasy, but its widescreen and pro-scan options are a big plus and the special effects are great. Its designs are top notch.

8.0 Sound
Though not Sakuraba's greatest work, Till the End of Time does boast some terrific songs and melodies. Strangely though, the DPL2 sound mixing is a little off and the voice acting is way below par.

9.5 Gameplay
Arguably the best battle system in an RPG that we've ever seen, Star Ocean also boasts some awesome customization options and plenty of tactical formalities. This is what RPG gameplay is all about.

9.0 Lasting Appeal
The battle collections will force completists into fits of insanity, while the option to uncover hidden dungeons, 10 different endings, versus mode, and special costumes should give them plenty to do.
